Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube Film Sensor for Ethanol Gas Detection

A kind of resistance-type multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) film sensor was fabricated using layer-by-layer self-assembly, and an astable multivibrator circuit was designed for resistance measurement. The electrical properties of MWNTs film sensor were investigated, and also its ethanol gassensing properties with varying gas concentration are characterized at room temperature. The experiment results shown that the layer-by-layer self-assembled MWNTs film sensor have swift response and high sensitive resistance change when exposed to ethanol gas. This sensor architecture feature advantages such as small-size, low expense, and enjoys extensive applications.
